Steven Gerrard has been ruled out of England’s friendly with Germany in Berlin on Wednesday after tearing a leg muscle during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Bolton yesterday.
The vice-captain has been ruled out for seven to 10 days so could return in time for Liverpool’s next game - the meeting with Fulham at Anfield next Saturday.
“Steven picked up an injury in yesterday’s game at Bolton,” said the Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton. “A scan this morning has confirmed a tear in the adductor magnus muscle in his right leg, and he is expected to be out between seven to 10 days.”
